Patients are often curious to know how many laser or chiropractic appointments they will need to feel better.   This is a tricky question to answer, because there are so many factors that can affect the speed of an individual’s recovery.

Since every person is different, we’ll look at some of the factors that can influence your rate of healing.

How long until you feel better?  There’s multiple factors that affect your healing time

The most obvious factor is—how severe is the injury?  It’s impossible to tell over the phone.  A consultation takes place before a patient receives either laser therapy or chiropractic care for the first time.  The chiropractor is then able to make recommendations about the best approach to treat the patient’s concern.

Some patients will be given suggestions for things to do at home.  Examples include exercises, applying ice, or adjusting a work station to be ergonomically friendly.  Patients who follow these suggestions to the best of their abilities generally have better outcomes than those who don’t.

A patient’s genetics, nutrition, living and working conditions, and overall state of health can also affect the rate at which they heal.

Every patient is a unique individual

This is why two patients can have the same diagnosis and both receive laser therapy treatment.  One patient may feel significant improvement after as few as 2-5 treatments.  Another might only feel that improvement after the fifteenth treatment.

It’s not uncommon for a patient to have as many as ten treatments before they feel the “breakthrough” of marked improvements.

But it’s also not uncommon for patients to feel relief as early as their first laser therapy session.

The effects of laser therapy are cumulative.  They accumulate over time.  It would be nice to be healed instantaneously, but realistically, you can expect a course of treatment that will relieve discomfort, speed healing, and support your body as you recover.

This is also true for traditional chiropractic care.

Both laser therapy and chiropractic care have cumulative effects

Chiropractic care, including laser therapy, will help your body to heal properly and more quickly.  It can provide you with pain relief and it will support your body as it undergoes the healing process.
