Do you have health insurance?  Maybe you have coverage through work, or you’ve purchased coverage.  If you have a partner, you might be included on his or her plan.  If you’re a student, you may be covered on your parents’ plan(s).  Also, if you have children, they may have coverage through your plan.

If you do, then you have benefits that can be applied to your health care.  Make the most of your benefits by using them to support your health!

Everyone can benefit from regular chiropractic care.  If you haven’t been in for a treatment, maintenance visit, or check-up lately, it’s time to schedule an appointment.

The majority of health insurance plans cover chiropractic care.

If you are covered for chiropractic care, then you are also covered for laser therapy.  Dr. Sheppard uses laser as one of his chiropractic treatment methods.

If you don’t have health insurance, you can still come to see us.  We will give you a receipt that can be saved for tax purposes.   Sheppard Chiropractic Centre doesn’t require a referral from a family doctor—just give us a call!

We are able to use direct billing for all eligible plans.

Direct billing means that you will not need to pay for your whole appointment up front.  We can submit directly and you will only pay the amount that your insurance does not cover (if any).  Therefore, it saves you the time spent on paperwork, the cost of stamps, and the need to deposit cheques.

Some plans are not set up for direct billing.  If your plan does not allow for direct billing, then you will receive coverage the traditional way: we will give you a receipt for your payment which you submit to the insurance company for reimbursement.

If you have any questions about your particular insurance plan (ie:  how much coverage you have, whether you are eligible for direct billing, what percent of your visit is covered, whether you have a deductible, etc)  please contact your insurance provider.  These details are specific to individual plans (ie, all plans through a particular company will not be the same).  In summary, our reception staff cannot view the confidential details of your coverage as this is protected information between you and your insurance company.
