Most people are familiar with the idea of going to the chiropractor if you have back pain.  Fewer members of the public know about laser therapy.

What conditions are treated with laser therapy?

  • sports injuries
  • carpal tunnel syndrome
  • plantar fasciitis
  • ligament and tendon tears
  • rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis
  • facet joint syndrome
  • bulging and herniated discs
  • rotator cuff injury
  • chondromalacia patella
  • bursitis and tendonitis
  • calcifications and bone spurs

If you struggle with any of the above, and you’re not already a patient, we invite you to discover the difference that laser therapy can make.

We are accepting new patients and would be honoured to assist you.

Contact Sheppard Chiropractic Centre at (506) 635-8182 or (506) 847-7172.  Ask us about laser therapy.

How do I know I’m ready?

You have no need to worry about “getting it wrong.”  Firstly, laser therapy takes place under a chiropractor’s guidance.  Secondly, we recognize that every patient has their own unique needs.  Finally, if laser therapy will not be useful in your case, we will recommend other treatment modalities to help you.

You have nothing to lose by asking!

Conversely, you may already be a chiropractic patient with us.  We will recommend laser therapy to you if and when appropriate.

Does my insurance cover it?

If your insurance covers you for chiropractic care, you will be covered for laser therapy as well because laser therapy is a modality (“tool”) available for a trained chiropractor to use in treating patients.

How does it work?

Laser therapy stimulates the cells in the body to accelerate healing.  That’s why laser therapy is so effective for acute injuries like muscle tears and sports injuries.

However, chronic conditions also benefit from this stimulation.  Laser therapy also helps to reduce inflammation.  Furthermore, it reduces the pain caused by that inflammation.  In summary, arthritis and carpal tunnel syndrome are examples of chronic conditions that respond well to laser therapy.
