After the excesses of the holiday season, many of us look to the New Year as a time to start fresh.

The tradition of New Year’s resolutions goes back thousands of years.  Versions of the tradition are found in cultures as varied as the ancient Babylonians, the Romans, and medieval Europeans.

But it’s one thing to make a resolution and another to know how to keep it.

If you’d like to be more active in the New Year, talk to your chiropractor first!

We can help you develop an exercise program or find a new sport that meets your abilities and needs.

Remember to start slowly and work up gradually.  The biggest mistake that most people make is to try to do too much too soon.  When they feel exhausted, or worse, injure themselves, they give up entirely.

Find an activity that you enjoy.  When it’s fun to be active, you’ll look forward to it.

Regular chiropractic care will support your body in your new, active lifestyle.

If you’d like to eat better in the New Year, do your research!

Remember that being healthy is far more important than fitting into clothing in an arbitrary size number.  Also, muscle weighs more than fat.  In conclusion, focus your resolution on eating nutritious food in proportionate servings and living a healthy and active lifestyle.

Find out what foods will provide you with the nutrition you need.  Learn to measure a serving size.  Practice cooking at home with wholesome ingredients.  Finally, skip pre-packaged, processed, and convenience take-out foods that are full of sugar, salt, preservatives, and artificial flavor and colour.
