As we look forward to 2023, we know that the New Year represents a fresh start.  We make resolutions in order to leave the parts of ourselves we aren’t happy with “behind” in the Old Year.

What are some good things to leave behind as we enter 2023?

Leave behind the temptation to be careless with your health.

If you feel “okay,” it can be tempting to put your health on the back burner.  Surely you’ll feel “okay” tomorrow too–right?

Sooner or later, this behaviour will catch up to us.

For example, one fast-food meal or one unhealthy snack is unlikely to have long term consequences.  But a pattern of unhealthy eating carries negative health consequences over time.

Similarly, the occasional lazy day is harmless – but a sedentary lifestyle has negative effects on your spine, your endurance, and your cardiovascular health.

Maybe you haven’t been in to see your chiropractor in some time.  The holiday season can be busy.  Therefore, it’s easy to get distracted.

But maybe that ache in your shoulder or feeling of stiffness or general sense of discomfort is starting to creep back.  Or maybe you’re worried that your pain will return.  Perhaps you’re feeling run-down and tired.  Or maybe you’re looking at the calendar and realizing that it’s been months–or longer–since you were last in for an adjustment.

Create some positive habits in 2023.

Eat well, live an active lifestyle, and see your health care practioners regularly.

Make resolutions that support wellness.

If major changes seem overwhelming, remember that it’s better to do something than to do nothing.  Pick one thing you’d like to change and do it until it feels normal.  Then add a second change.

Make a fresh start

If it’s been a while since we last saw you, the New Year is a great time to make a fresh start.  Many insurance plans re-set in the New Year.  We’d be happy to see you and help you stay at your best.

Enjoy your New Year!  Then give Sheppard Chiropractic Centre a call at 635-8182 or 847-7172 and book your first maintenance appointment for the year.
