Do you think a skeleton is spooky?

As Halloween approaches, you can see skeletons everywhere, in pictures and decorations.  Most people don’t think about skeletons much, except at this time of year.

Why do the skeletons only come out at Halloween?

Living people didn’t often see their bones in the days before x-rays.  Therefore, they associated bones with death.  But our skeletons are working hard for us every day of our lives.

A skeleton works year-round

Firstly, we wouldn’t get far without our bones to hold us up.  Tendons attach muscles to bones.  Muscles cause us to move.

Secondly, our spinal cords run down our backs.  They transmit nerve impulses to the rest of our bodies.  They tell our muscles when to move.

That’s why it’s called the musculo-skeletal system.

What’s scarier than a skeleton?

How about…the years of wear and tear on our bodies?  Everyday wear and tear can lead to inflammation, pain, ache, and loss of range of movement.  Scary!

The good news is that chiropractic care can help.

Chiropractic care is natural and drug-free.  It can lessen or eliminate the need for over-the-counter painkillers.

Chiropractors are specialists in the musculo-skeletal system.

It’s a chiropractor’s job to treat the everyday wear and tear we put on our bodies.

Regular chiropractic care supports our nervous systems and keeps them functioning at their best.

Chiropractic care reduces stress.  As well, it eliminates some types of headaches.  In addition, chiropractic care can help to relieve the pain of acute injuries.  Furthermore, it promotes proper healing.

Don’t be afraid to care for your musculo-skeletal system.

This Halloween, when you see the skeletons hanging from doors and windows, take some time to think about your own skeleton.
