Many people who experience back pain don’t remember a single injury or accident that caused their pain.

“Annie” fell off a ladder and landed on her back. She felt pain in her back when she landed, and when she still feels pain the next day, she knows exactly why it hurts.

“Bob,” on the other hand, is in just as much pain as Annie, except that he never had an accident. He often feels uncomfortable during the day.  Sometimes it’s hard for him to focus on his work—or his family—because the pain is always with him. Sometimes it wakes him up at night, too. But he shouldn’t be feeling this way—should he? After all, he hasn’t been in a fall or a car accident and he doesn’t remember when he “pulled” something.  He can’t even remember when the pain started.  So…why does it hurt?

Both Annie and Bob need to go see the chiropractor!

In Bob’s case, his back pain is the result of years of small, unnoticed “traumas” and stresses that have added up over time. Improper posture, overexertion, lifting and bending, and genetic pre-disposition can all amplify those little traumas. There’s a cumulative effect, until one day “Bob” realizes that he’s been uncomfortable for a long time.  Pain is interfering more and more with his daily activities—but he can’t remember having a big injury. Instead of a single event, small injuries have added up into the “straw that broke the camel’s back.”

The good news is, Bob’s chiropractor can help!

Soon both Annie and Bob will be feeling relief from the pain and well in the process of healing—all without the use of drugs or surgeries.
