Plantar fasciitis is the inflammation of the plantar fascia. Your plantar fascia is the tissue that runs between your heel and your toes.

Tension and stress can create micro sized tears in the plantar fascia.  Repeated tearing and stretching are common causes of plantar fasciitis.

Firstly, plantar fasciitis is more common in people with flat feet.  Secondly, it is also more common in those with a high arch.

Foot health

Most of all, supportive shoes are crucial.  Whenever possible, bypass the flip-flops, dress shoes, heels and slippers.  Also choose shoes with deep treads and support for your heel and arch.

Finally, recognize that shoes wear out over time.  The more active you are, the more quickly your shoes will wear out.  Replace shoes regularly to ensure they are providing enough support.
