Workplace safety is an important part of healthy living.  It doesn’t matter if your job involves physical labour, sitting at a desk or behind a wheel, or standing all day.  Each type of workplace places unique strains on the workers’ bodies.   It’s easy to develop back and neck problems at work.

Whether you stand, sit, drive, or a mixture of all three at work, chiropractic care can help you.

Regular chiropractic care can help to prevent injuries and discomfort.  Maintenance care keeps you feeling their best, whether you stand, sit, drive, or perform physical labour for your job.  As well, chiropractic care will enable you to perform at your best.  Also, if you begin to feel aches or pain, or have an accident or a fall, your chiropractor can also treat the acute injury.

Finally, we always appreciate your referrals.  Your co-workers may be struggling with old injuries, musculo-skeletal problems, aches and pains, or workplace strain.  Please let them know we would be honoured to help them.  They can contact Sheppard Chiropractic Centre at (506) 635-8182 or (506) 847-7172.

Advice for Drivers

Some of us drive for a living.  Others commute to and from work each day.  Or perhaps your job requires you to drive between work sites or travel on business.  These tips can help.

Firstly, egometrics are just as important in a car as at a desk.  You should not have to stretch to reach the pedals or the steering wheel.

Secondly, adjust the headrest so that it is level with your head and no more than two inches behind your head.

Thirdly, schedule time to stop the vehicle periodically and get out for a stretch break.  Your back will thank you.  It will also help you to stay alert while driving.

Finally, drivers experience unique stresses on their backs.  Regular chiropractic care can help.  If you haven’t got your next appointment booked, call Sheppard Chiropractic Centre at (506) 635-8182 or (506) 847-7172.
